MAGIS Encounter 2025 – Dodoma

The MAGIS Encounter 2025 was held on 26th December 2025 at Chaula Farm, Dodoma, bringing together MAGIS youth members for their annual moment of reflection, sharing, and renewal of the MAGIS spirit. This annual encounter provides a space for young people to undertake a general examine of the year, share experiences of spiritual growth, discuss challenges, celebrate successes, and strengthen bonds of friendship and mission.
Due to prevailing political uncertainties, the planned three-day Province MAGIS Encounter (26–29 December 2025) in Dodoma was cancelled. Nevertheless, since preparations were already underway, the gathering proceeded with the Dodoma MAGIS cohort, representing the wider Eastern Africa MAGIS community. The encounter served as a meaningful moment of continuity and encouragement for the movement.
MAGIS Dodoma continues to show encouraging growth, welcoming nine new members over the past three months. During this period, the group has undertaken several initiatives, including a pilgrimage to Kizota, a home visit to a MAGIS member, participation in a charity activity with the Deaf Children’s Community in Kigwe, and the launch of a spiritual online presence on TikTok, focusing on Ignatian spirituality.
Across the Province, MAGIS communities remain active. MAGIS Kenya recently organized a charity event at the Kibera Charity Brothers Centre, held a team-building activity, and continues regular parish-based meetings, with MAGIS Guadalupe noted for its strong engagement, supported by Sch. Fredrick Osewe. MAGIS Malindi has adopted monthly online meetings, embracing a digital approach to sustain participation despite geographical challenges, with consistent support from Sch. Stanislaus Kanenje.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Province plans to expand and strengthen MAGIS presence in Mombasa, Malindi, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Kampala, and Gulu. Coordinators across these cohorts are working collaboratively to rekindle and deepen the MAGIS spirit. The province appeals to Jesuits in these regions to continue supporting MAGIS youth whenever called upon, fostering their growth spiritually, socially, and through works of charity.

2026.
