A Time to Sow: When Small Seeds Shape Great Futures

By Fr. Silas Kemboi, SJ

It is with great joy that we write to share an update on the second cohort of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (IEP). At the outset, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support and continued goodwill toward this initiative.

Our fundraising event held on December 2nd, 2025, was a great success. The funds raised during this event have made it possible for us to continue the program, and for that, we are deeply thankful. Because of your generosity, we once again have the opportunity to accompany a new group of learners as they nurture their ideas and work toward bringing them to fruition.

Module 1: Ideation and Creative Thinking

We held our first onsite class on January 23rd and 24th. Of those who applied, 20 learners attended the two-day training. During this first module, participants engaged in ideation and creative thinking exercises. The module was designed to help learners brainstorm widely and generate as many innovative and entrepreneurial ideas as possible, encouraging them to think creatively and outside the box. We are especially grateful to Dr. Mokua for making the sessions highly interactive and engaging.

A Special Cohort

As the team on the ground, we are pleased to have a good number of Jesuits and friends from different parts of the world who will be facilitating some classes. Moreover, we are excited to share that some individuals or groups from this cohort with promising and scalable ideas will receive seed funding. Access to seed funding has long been a key hope of the program, and we are sincerely grateful to you for making this possible. Through your generosity, you have chosen to invest not only in the program, but also directly in the dreams and potential of our learners. Thank you for reaching out and walking this journey with us.

We will continue to keep you informed about ongoing developments and the innovative ideas that emerge from this cohort. Should you be interested, there will also be opportunities to mentor and accompany some of our learners.

May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and support.
