With Grateful Hearts
By Fr. Silas Kemboi, SJ
As I reflect on our first IEP fundraising breakfast and all that we were able to achieve, Don Moen’s song “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart” perfectly captures what I feel. What began as a simple idea—one that sprung from a dining table conversation with friends and alumni about the impact of IEP and PHU resources—blossomed into a beautiful success. We cannot attribute this success to our efforts alone. I deeply believe it was God at work. He blessed us with you—supportive friends, relatives, companions, colleagues, and collaborators—who, when we shared the idea with you, embraced it and made it a reality. Truly, we cannot help but give thanks with grateful hearts.
Through your generosity and support, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Program (IEP) will continue empowering young people with practical skills, confidence, and the tools they need to shape brighter futures in their communities. Each contribution, each word of encouragement, and each moment shared at the breakfast helped move this vision forward.
Thank you for believing in this work. Thank you for walking with us. And thank you for helping ignite opportunities that will outlive all of us in the best possible way.
In a special way, I wish to thank the Loyola Jesuit Community for allowing us to use their space as our venue. Your hospitality was a true reflection of the motherliness of your community. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused.
Lastly—and most importantly—I am deeply indebted to the team that organized the fundraiser. You are an A-team that anyone would be blessed to have in their corner. Within just a month, you managed to organize everything with such dedication and tireless effort. Your commitment made this event the success it was.
