First Little Steps

By Fr. Silas Kemboi, SJ

Greetings, friends!

Since the beginning of the year, many small—and sometimes invisible—yet exciting developments have been unfolding at Proposed Hekima University (PHU). One such development is the ongoing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program (IEP).

This month, our learners—our “Innopreneurs”—were taken through Module Two by Rev. Dr. Kyaligonza, SJ. The module focused on clearly defining problems and framing viable solutions. We are deeply grateful to Abba Kyali for traveling all the way from northern Uganda to accompany and guide this cohort. His commitment is one example of the many sacrifices our companions are making in the shared quest to bring to birth our grand vision of a Jesuit university.

Another encouraging update you may wish to know is the growing hope that our Bachelor of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship (BISE) program may run at our Molo Annex this year, beginning in August. While this is promising, much remains to be done before it becomes definitive. Now more than ever, we ask for your prayers—for us and for all those upon whom the success of this process depends.
