St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School is the first preparatory and primary school to be established by Jesuits in Tanzania. The construction of the school started in the year 2000, and the first batch of students (45 in Kindergarten and 45 in grade one) enrolled in the year 2003. The school is run in collaboration with the Sisters of Saint Gemma Galgani of Dodoma. It strives to impart education that evokes balanced and critical thinking and thus forms the whole person intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The aim is to holistically form men and women for others.
