Signing of the contract for the construction of the school

On the memorable days of July 14, 2023 and July 14, 2024, two significant events etched themselves into the history. The first was the signing of the contract for the Jesuit Community house’s construction, while the second marked the commencement of the school’s construction. In the tapestry of life, such synchronicities often unfold without our conscious awareness. On this auspicious occasion, Fr. Mardai, SJ, and Tigiti, SJ embarked on the next phase of building the school in Bonga. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed consultants, Arch. Fasil and Eng. Mekebib, symbolizing a harmonious blend of wisdom and expertise in the pursuit of educational excellence. As the African proverb goes, “Unity is strength, division is weakness,” this collaboration exemplifies the power of unity in achieving shared goals and leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Status of the school

The envisioned school aims to cater to a student of 1080 upon its completion. Once fully constructed, the school will boast a range of top-notch facilities, including an auditorium capable of accommodating 800 attendees across its semi-basement, ground floor, and mezzanine levels. Additionally, an administration block equipped with essential amenities, classrooms tailored for the targeted student count, well-appointed washrooms, a computer laboratory with a capacity for 90 students, a library, laboratories, a sickbay, and various other essential amenities will be seamlessly integrated into the school’s infrastructure. The forthcoming second phase of construction will focus on key structures such as administration buildings, classrooms, libraries, and computer labs, along with restroom facilities for both staff and students, laboratories, underground electrical and sanitary installations, and a soak away pit to ensure the school’s operational efficiency and sustainability.
