Greetings of peace from the land richly endowed with wine – Dodoma. K-Ndege parish is always alive with activities of all kinds of pastoral ministry ranging across all age groups from the unborn all the way to those living in the “biblical bonus” age bracket. I can say that there is life in the parish. On Saturday August 31st the parish hosted 345 students from 12 primary schools which normally receive Catechetical education (Mafundisho ya dini) under the coordination of the parish. The schools are Mlimwa A & B, K-Ndege, Chinagari A, Chamwino A & B, Chang’ombe A & B, Mnadani, Fountain Gate, Mbwanga and Chaduru. The students were accompanied by their teachers and catechists. The thanksgiving Mass was presided over by Dodoma Diocese Auxilliary Bishop, His Grace Rt. Rev. Wilbroad Henry Kibozi. Among other exhortations he urged the students to hold on to the Christian education received and called upon each and everyone to be a Catechist to the people of God, catechists who help others to understand their faith and live it. All students received certificates including gifts for the best performers.
In the spirit of accompanying young people and forming them towards a hope-filled future, the parish youth (VIWAWA) held a Bonanza on Sunday in commemoration of St. Augustine, their patron saint. It started with a seminar attended by at least 110 youths. The session covered the life of this man Augustine flowing from his birth through some key restless moments to the times he discovered the true resting place. Some of the youth appreciated the power of grace and conversion, the reality of human waywardness, the essence of reading helpful materials, the significance of faith and God’s will in our lives: https://www.facebook.com/100078693461108/videos/418077544720959/?mibextid=8HI2vyzhxhZ0rFJs
The Bonanza concluded with bonding games and a competitive football match between K-Ndege youth (Vatican FC) and Dodoma Media Group – of course the Vatican FC won the match, 4:2!
Wishing all God’s grace in your various villages of ministry.
