Catholic Child Care Leaders Showcase Photography Skills to Elevate Visual Storytelling
By Ms. Teresia Muia
In a virtual showcase on October 31, 2024, fourteen delegates from CCC institutions across Malawi, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Kenya showcased their talents in photography under the session arranged by LCMC. The initiative has shown the rising importance of visual storytelling in modern times and underlined how powerful images can bring stories to life about child care institutions.
LCMC Programs Manager Joy Kesenwa led the virtual review, giving rich feedback on every one of the photographs submitted. The celebration of every member’s creativity and skill in the session was taken back by how single images could speak to the impact of their work with children. Positive critiques by Kesenwa sent participants away inspired about how intentional visuals can capture and communicate their mission more effectively.
CCC members sounded excited, since this newly acquired skill in photography would now help in documenting the progress and impact of their institutions. This is a transformational step for CCC institutions in modern times since visuals stir more engagement.
CCC is a network of Catholic Sisters committed to child care in a loving, family-like environment. It has been working in collaboration with LCMC since November 2023 to build in them the required skills for better documentation and sharing of their work in ways which touch hearts and souls, especially through visuals to show the impact they have in caring on young lives.
