LCMC Champions AI Integration in Academia

The Loyola Centre for Media and Communications (LCMC) showcased its commitment to advancing digital literacy by hosting a two-hour interactive session on January 15, 2025, at the Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR). The event focused on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academia, drawing participation from academic professionals eager to embrace the digital revolution.
Dr. Elias Mokua, SJ, Executive Director of LCMC, led the session alongside two dedicated LCMC staff members. Together, they provided a hands-on introduction to a range of AI tools designed to enhance efficiency and innovation in academic tasks. Participants gained practical insights into how AI can simplify traditionally time-consuming activities, including academic research, feedback collection, and brainstorming processes.
“AI is a real game-changer for academic excellence and overall productivity. Times are changing, and so should we,” said Dr. Mokua, SJ.
