Loyola Secondary School is a co-educational day school established in 1982. The first intake of students was in 1984. Due to the civil wars in South Sudan, the school had to close two years after its opening. In April 2008, the school was re-opened enrolling 180 students to Senior One and Preparatory class. In a country affected by civil war and ethnic strife, LSS has managed to create a unique space where young men and women can acquire the skills that will help them build a better future. Currently, LSS has a student population of 605 students (337 girls, 268 boys) with 85 (61 female, 24 male) of those receiving scholarships. 4 Jesuits work at the school alongside one other religious, two full-time teachers, and 26 part-time teachers.
