Peace and warm greetings from Wau. We bring you a number of news today from Loyola Wau. We are still experiencing high temperatures in Wau. But we are continuing to labor in the mission God has given us here. Last week it rained and we thought it would continue to rain. It did not rain again and we are still experiencing rise in the temperatures. The Ministry of Education had to close schools nationwide because the heat was too much for children and reopened in the last three weeks when the temperatures had barely reduced. Since then normal academic activities resumed and have been continuing with the mid-term exams.
On Saturday 20th April, the senior three and Senior four students had recollection under the theme: understanding the practice of the Eucharist in the Catholic Church. The recollection was animated by Fr. Philo Nguruwe, SJ. It was a great moment for all of them. As it helped many of them understand the meaning of the Eucharist but most of all, Fr. Philo helped them understand many aspects of practical Christian life, students life oriented towards the future. He shared life stories that touched most of them and hopefully will have impact in their lives as they continue reflecting and integrating what they can into their lives.
This week, we had a number of activities, one activity worth mention is the event that happened on Tuesday. Tuesday is the normal school Mass day where the newly elected prefects were sworn in. The Principal Fr. Jean Baptist Musiitwa, SJ reminded the Prefects that they have accepted a responsibility and invited them to cooperate among themselves and with the teachers so that they learn. Being a prefect is a moment to learn and help the fellow students to learn by reminding them when proper to be serious with their studies.
