“Integration time”

By Jean Baptiste Musiitwa, SJ

The Mwangaza Tertianship Program 2025 is here with us. It opened its doors on 3rd January 2025 to a group of fourteen Jesuit priests from around the world. It is a six-month program of roughly 171 days coming to an end on 22nd June 2025. The AOR has six Jesuit fathers: Musiitwa, Mutuku, Mutambo, Ggita, Waweru, and Onjala.  The US has three Jesuits, Michael, Mathew, and Kramer. Madagascar has Ediranoarivony, China province has John Joseph, ACE has Mukanya, and ANW has Niku Ekom. With the two tertian instructors, Miti Nathanael, SJ and Kifle Wansamo, SJ it is a full house

This year’s program was officially opened with mass led by Fr. Binamungu on 6th January 2025. He told the tertians that “Tertianship is a privileged time of renewal and deep reflection. It is a sacred opportunity to synthesize our spiritual, apostolic, and intellectual journeys; a time to rediscover the grace that first drew us to the Society and renew our desire to live forever in this vocation.”

After listening to those words of wisdom from Fr. Binamungu, the tertians were welcomed into the school of the Heart or the school of the examine. The day ended with a welcome dinner attended by Fr. Deshi superior PAC, and Brother Deo the PAC minister.
