By Sajilo Juius Mark, SJ

Dear friends in the Lord greetings from Mwanza the Rock City. It is my hope and prayer that we are all blooming wherever we are sent in our respective missions. For us here is Mwanza the apostolate is doing well, parish work as you all know it is demanding and one has to be present do deal with practical matters affecting the people of God and so it requires spiritual strength and innermost strength to deal with issues.

However, we thank God for the many graces that we have received, and so far we have the youth apostolate with our Xavier Football Club that is bringing the youth together and trying to develop their talents through giving them proper training. On the other hand Catechism classes are going on in all the schools that are under Nyakahoja Parish. Since the pupils and students have resumed classes the more work of evangelization is required among the young stars that are under our care.

There upcoming events ahead, the commemoration of 25th anniversary since the passing on of the former first president of Tanzania Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere will take place at St. Francis Xavier Parish Nyakahoja. So, we expect a big number of government officials to attend that day on 14th October 2024. On another note we had a group of youth who came from Dodoma for a pilgrimage and they came from our own parish K/Ndege and they were accompanied by Deacon Dominic Mutunga SJ, we had some good moments together here in Mwanza with the Holy Deacon.
