Reaping from the Efforts of Beyond Academic Excellence
The results for the Ugandan Certificate of Education, was released in the course of the week. Everyone is elated as we try to comprehend the interpretations of the New Lower Secondary Curriculum results. The 2024 students were a special lot considering the fact that they had to bare the effects of covid-19, which delayed learning for at least one year. They are also the first lot to be tested under a new lower secondary school curriculum which started in the year 2020. We have all reasons to smile, considering the consolidated effort put in place to achieve the results, placing us top in the northern region and in Gulu district. All for the greater glory of God.

Community Outreach on World’s Day of the Sick
The world today is full of so many diseases and uncertainties. Half of the worlds population suffers from a number of diseases ranging from HIV/AIDS, cancer, hypertension, malaria, diabetes, mental illness, etc. and in one way or the other, we all suffer from these diseases either directly or indirectly (we are either affected or infected). Therefore, because of the torture and sadness caused by these diseases, it is safe to say that the whole wide world needs compassion and love. The best therapy to offer those who are ill and needy is love, care and closeness.
On the 11th February, 2025, Ocer Campion Jesuit College celebrated the world’s day of the sick. The desire to continue touching lives and healing broken hearts through the act of visiting the sick and giving alms continue to run through the hearts and minds of every Ocerian. They seek to heal the world with an act of love and empathy thus following in the footsteps of the Good Samaritan. On Tuesday 11th, the Ocerian community paid a visit to one of the Cancer institute located in Koro. The selected students and the few staff members that went there exhibited an act of pure and unconditional love and care for the cancer patients. They comforted them with words of hope and encouraged them to pray and not think that God has neglected them through their time of trials and tribulations. In addition to the words of hope and encouragement, the Ocerian community also availed the Cancer patients and their caregivers with a few items like milk, juice, soap, sugar, fruits, pads, toilet papers and others. This was done to show them that the Ocerian community cares about them and are willing to walk this long uninteresting journey of sickness with them. The team also prayed with the cancer patients and encouraged their caregivers to always be there for them and not get tired of them because all the patients need at this point of their lives is love, care and attention.
In return, the Ocerian team was also given a few lessons/ information about the cause, prevention, cure and the four stages of Cancer
