Dinner to support the establishment of Hekima University’s main campus in Nakuru County, Molo. Courtesy of Father Provincial Kizito Kiyimba’s invitation, the night held promise not only of a sumptuous feast but of unity, purpose, and a lasting impact on our community’s future at Hekima Institute of Peace Studies and International Relations (HIPSIR).

The hall was adorned with vibrant African décor, setting the stage for an evening celebrating tradition and ambition. We were surrounded by friends, and friends of friends, all sharing a common goal to make a positive difference. The air buzzed with excitement and hope as we connected, engaged, and were inspired by remarkable speakers who shared their stories and visions for the future.

The evening began with a heartfelt welcome from Father Provincial Kiyimba, whose words set the tone for the night. The guest speaker, Prof. Noah Midamba, took the stage next, captivating us with his insights on education and its transformative power. The audience listened intently, their faces reflecting a shared vision of progress. Adding to the evening’s prestige were the Ugandan High Commission Chargé d’affaires, Mr. Evans Aryabaha, and Counselor-Consular Affairs, Ms. Sanyu Mandy. Their presence underscored the importance of regional cooperation and support. Mr. Aryabaha spoke about the ties that bind our communities and the collective strength we could harness through education and collaboration.

As dusk settled, the melodious tunes of the live band floated through the air, adding a touch of magic to the camaraderie and conversations that filled the room. The music, a mix of traditional African rhythms and contemporary melodies, created the perfect ambiance for the evening. Guests swayed to the beat, their spirits lifted by the harmonious blend of sound and sentiment.

The tables were laden with dishes celebrating the continent’s rich culinary heritage. Every bite was a testament to the flavors and traditions that make Africa unique. Laughter and conversation flowed freely as guests savored the delicious offerings. An exciting raffle added an element of fun and anticipation to the evening. Participants eagerly awaited the draw, hoping to win one of the many books from renowned authors, handcrafts, and products from local entrepreneurs. Cheers erupted as winners were announced, their faces beaming with delight as they collected their prizes.

But beyond the festivities and the joy of the moment, the true purpose of the evening was clear – to raise funds for Hekima University’s main campus. As pledges and donations poured in, a sense of achievement and gratitude filled the room. We were not just attendees at a dinner; we were active participants in shaping the future of our community.

The Fundraising Dinner was more than just an event; it was a testament to what can be achieved when a community unites with a common purpose. The funds raised will pave the way for the construction of Hekima University’s main campus, a project that will empower countless individuals and strengthen our community. As we left the hall, our hearts were full, knowing we had played a part in creating a brighter future.
