PHU’s Financial Literacy Program Takes Off!

In an exciting financial adventure, the first-ever Financial Literacy program by the proposed Hekima University (pHU) has kicked off at Baraka Agricultural Institute in Molo. The program, running from yesterday Thursday 23rd to 24th November, aims to empower people, including young minds, dairy farmers, teachers, and administrators, with the knowledge and skills to manage their money wisely.

The team leading this financial adventure includes the dynamic trio of Dr. Odomaro, SJ Francis Ogutu, and Gerald Kway, SJ. They set out on a mission to Molo on Wednesday, ready to unravel the secrets of financial success. Thursday marked the first day of the program, attracting a keen group of trainees eager to dive into the world of personal finance. The enthusiasm is palpable as the participants engage in sessions covering a range of topics, from understanding personal values and the connection between faith and money to navigating income and expenses, mastering debt management, and the art of savings.

Just like gearing up with a shield to protect against unexpected money challenges, the participants are learning how to create their financial model capes. And guess what? This isn’t just for adults’; young minds are getting a head start in the financial game too! The discussions are not your typical lecture style, they are more like an exciting game where you learn the rules to win. Investing wisely is likened to playing a smart game against inflation, ensuring that the value of your money stays strong over time.

The diverse group, including dairy farmers and educators, is getting hands-on experience in creating a financial legacy. As the program continues into Friday, participants will explore more about ideation in business, bringing out the entrepreneurs within them. So, while many youths might be engrossed in social media platforms, these young minds in Molo are levelling up in the real-world game of financial literacy. The university’s Financial Literacy Program is not just an event, it’s a journey to financial empowerment, and the participants are the heroes in the making!
