PHU and Baraka College Strengthen Partnership for the University`s Launch
By Francis Ogutu

In an exciting stride toward advancing education and development in Molo region, the Proposed Hekima University (PHU) and Baraka Agricultural College (BAC) are building a dynamic partnership set to transform learning and community growth. On 7th November, 2024 a PHU delegation led by the deputy vice chancellor for Academic and Students Affairs, Dr. Odomaro Mubangizi accompanied by Gerald Kway, Dr. Christopher Mapunda, and Dr. Lawrence Kyaligonza—met with BAC’s leaders, Madam Pamela (Principal) and Brother Bernard (Deputy Principal), to explore impactful ways to deepen collaboration.

The meeting marked a shared vision and a future where students, faculty, and the broader community thrive through an enriching academic and practical experience. BAC, a steadfast partner for over four years, has already welcomed PHU by hosting various workshops and trainings on its campus. Now, as PHU aims to establish itself as a regional academic powerhouse, both institutions see new opportunities to combine resources and expertise.

BAC’s facilities provide a solid foundation for PHU’s ambitious goals, offering lecture halls filled with potential, comfortable accommodations for students and faculty, versatile multipurpose halls, and a library equipped with essential academic resources. Students and researchers will benefit from science and computer labs, demonstration farms for hands-on agriculture and sustainability training, sports grounds, enterprise spaces for internships, a welcoming refectory, and nearby healthcare access through an on-site dispensary.

The visit concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and collaboration. This partnership goes beyond academics—it represents a mission to create a thriving educational hub for Eastern Africa, with real benefits for students, educators, and the wider community. With further discussions underway, PHU and BAC are committed to making this transformative vision a reality.

For educators, community leaders, and development enthusiasts, this collaboration promises to not only enhance learning but also ignite meaningful change for Molo, Eastern Africa, and beyond.
