UNICEF Visit Radio Kwizera

Radio Kwizera had a privilege to host the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) staff on Wednesday 6th November 2024 during their visit to meet the listeners of one of the programmes they sponsored (Hondohondo). This program focused on responsible parenting and as a consequence won the award at the annual Tanzanian journalism awards last month.
The two staff (Mrs. Josephine and Ms. Rachel) had an opportunity to attend post-mortem (a daily journalists evaluation and planning meeting) before departing to meet Hondohondo listeners within the Ngara environs. The visit didn’t end in Ngara but was extended to Kibondo and Kasulu where the project focused. The two were impressed with RK’s modus operandi and departed with a thirst of continuing to partner with the radio to reach the most disadvantaged children.
Meanwhile, the online team is making efforts to stream our most influential News packages at noon and 4pm on Kwizera TV. So far so good on the marketing part. The number of subscribers keep scaling up. We hope these numbers can be converted to some dollars in the near future.
