Beatus Shayo, SJ

Dear Companions, Greetings from Rome, Italy. Happy New Year 2025!

I hope that you are doing well in your respective apostolates.

I am pleased to update you on the joyful occasion of the profession of the final vows of Fr. Joseph Mboya, SJ. The Mass took place at the Chiesa del Gesù on January 3rd, 2025, on the solemnity of the Holy Name of Jesus, the Titular Feast of the Society of Jesus. Father General presided over the Mass, along with other concelebrants, primarily Jesuits and some from other congregations.

During his homily, Father General emphasized the importance of the life of vows and the self-dedication to the Church that defines our mission. He invited us all to pray fervently for Father Mboya, for the graces to continue his commitment to both religious and apostolic life as he endeavors to follow the name of Jesus through his self-dedication to the Society of Jesus and the Church.

After Mass, Fr. Joseph Mboya professed his private vows in the sacristy. Following a significant occasion, we gathered at the Collegio San Roberto Bellarmino where we enjoyed a delightful meal and shared cheer.

We are profoundly grateful for the gift of vocation that Father Joseph Mboya represents, alongside his unwavering commitment to the Society of Jesus. Let us continue to pray for his journey in serving the Lord under the banner of the cross.
