Building Critical Mass

By Fr. Silas Kemboi, SJ

Someone wise once said that the peak of one mountain is the bottom of another. March 16th was a joyous day to a group of catechists, PMC animators, and ushers from St. Joseph the worker parish at Kangemi. They completed their introduction training on the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults. As an office, we often award certificates of completion to those who attend 20+ hours of training on safeguarding.

Before awarding the certificates, we had a panel comprising local government authorities, children and gender desk at Kangemi and the Church. Fr. Nzioki who represented the Provincial spoke of how Church and Society is keen in promoting safeguarding. He invited those who received the training to agents of safeguarding for we need critical mass to make safeguarding our culture or rather our way of being.

I am grateful to the parish priest for the support received, the training team (Evan Okot.SJ and Faith Mwangi), Ms. Betty Hamud for her rich experience, Fr. Nzioki for accepting to represent Abba Bina,

I will let the pictures tell the story.
