The Jesuits Eastern Africa Province (AOR) identif ies South Sudan as a priority area [frontier] for its missions in Eastern Africa. With a presence of more than 35 years in the country, the Province is a recognized leader in education, food security and livelihoods and pastoral programs.
The Jesuits currently have 5 apostolates in South Sudan; a secondary school in Wau, a teacher training college in Cueibet, an agricultural institute & informal primary school in Akol Jal, a vocational education center as well as peace and pastoral programs at St Teresa Parish in Rumbek. All these programs designed to accompany and build resilience of people in South Sudan. The Jesuits extend support to all people in need regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
