Empowering Student Leaders
In a bid to foster a more cohesive and productive school environment, the prefects of St. Joseph Secondary School alongside their teachers convened a comprehensive evaluation meeting on 11th September 2023. This meeting aimed to explore the challenges and accomplishments they’ve encountered since assuming their respective roles within the school community.
The evaluation meeting began with the student prefects openly sharing the challenges they had faced in their roles. These included issues related to maintaining discipline among fellow students and ensuring extracurricular activities ran smoothly.
Following the prefects’ candid revelations, the teachers took the opportunity to provide their insights. Not only did they acknowledge the crucial role of they play but, also emphasized on the importance of time management and effective communication as key skills for the prefects to master.
At the end of the evaluation meeting, it was noted that, by working together to find solutions, the school aims to empower the student leaders to excel in their roles and continue contributing positively to the school community. This initiative will not only enhance the overall school experience but will also prepare the prefects for future leadership roles beyond their school years.
Opener Examinations for Term 3 2023
On Tuesday, 12 September 2023, the secondary school students began their first examination for third term. This happens to be the last internal examination the form fours will take. Thereupon, they will embark on rigorous preparations for the national examinations scheduled to begin on 23 October 2023. The opener examinations give the students a reason to study while they are on holiday. They also provide the teachers with insight on areas they need to address before the conclusion of the term.
