St. Joseph the Worker, PRAY FOR US
By Eugene Nyakundi
As you approach St Joseph the Worker Catholic Parish from former AJAN offices side, you will notice a welcoming Statue of St. Joseph the Worker perched atop the urban block, at Saint Joseph Technical Center, which stands as a guiding symbol of faith and hard work towards academic excellence. Positioned strategically on the rooftop, this sacred figure serves as an iconic landmark, directing seekers of knowledge and progress toward the heart of educational transformation.
The institution’s location is no accident—it is a deliberate choice that ensures accessibility and visibility, a testament to its mission of nurturing young minds and fostering development. With Saint Joseph’s presence overlooking the community, the building itself becomes more than just a structure; it transforms into a beacon of hard work, wisdom, discipline, and holistic growth.
As an identification icon, the statue provides a sense of belonging and direction, reminding all who pass by of the values of diligence, resilience, and service to humanity. Its presence reassures students, pupils, educators, and stakeholders that they are on the right path, one that leads to enlightenment and empowerment.
Saint Joseph Development Programmes stands not just as an institution but as a transformative force, shaping the future through education, moral guidance, and unwavering faith. It is a landmark not only in structure but in purpose—a guiding light for generations to come.
At the heart of Saint Joseph Development Programmes (SJDP) stands the Upendo Unit Programme, a sanctuary of learning, care, and empowerment. Marked by its freshly painted gate, this entrance is more than just an access point—it is a symbol of renewal, direction, and identity.
Strategically positioned within the community, the Upendo Unit Programme serves as a beacon of guidance for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), ensuring that education remains an accessible right, not a privilege. The newly designed gate, adorned with the SJDP corporate colors of deep green, bold red, and crisp white, reflects the institution’s unwavering commitment to love, service, and academic transformation.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the gate stands as an identification icon, proudly displaying the SJDP emblem and motto—Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (For the Greater Glory of God). This emblem is more than a design; it represents a mission-driven approach to holistic education, rooted in faith and social responsibility.
Partnership between SJDP & JWL
Saint Joseph Development Programmes (SJDP) partnered with Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL), where students will take Global English Language (GEL) Programmes, leading to professional courses from various Jesuit institute around the world. The pioneer batch started the programme this week. This will be a booster to St. Joseph Technical Center in its vision to empower and transform the young people especially the vulnerable and marginalized through education.
In the heart of transformation, these eager students stand as a testament to the power of Jesuit Worldwide Learning (JWL) and its mission to foster a community of global learners. With JWL’s Global English Language (GEL) Programme, they embark on a journey of education that transcends borders, unlocking opportunities that would otherwise remain out of reach.
Holding their course materials with pride, these learners represent resilience, hope, and the commitment to change—not just for themselves but for their communities. JWL’s GEL Programme serves as a foundational stepping stone, equipping them with internationally accredited skills, preparing them for higher education, career advancement, and global engagement.
Through learning together, they are transforming the world, proving that education is not a privilege but a universal right. The spirit of Jesuit education shines through in their dedication, reminding us that knowledge, when shared, becomes a force for justice, peace, and progress.
This is more than a classroom—it is a gateway to a brighter, interconnected future.
