EXEMPLARY ANIMATION OF MASS BY FORM 6

By Joyce N. Nagunwa and Patricia P. Mgimwa

On February 9, 2025, St. Peter Claver High School celebrated its Fifth Sunday of the Year in the church calendar. This special occasion was marked by a solemn and joyous Holy Mass, led by Fr Karongo, the Headmaster, alongside Fr Kimonge, the Head of the Jesuits at St. Peter.

The day’s activities were beautifully coordinated by Form Six students, who played a key role in making the celebration memorable. Highlights of the Mass included:

  • Vibrant performances led by Kingu and his team.
  • The grand procession of the Holy Book, carried with reverence by Nashpai and others.
  • A graceful liturgical dance, skillfully performed by Zabibu and her group.
  • Heartfelt hymns from the form six students who also formed the choir.
  • Generous offerings, which included essentials such as salt, sugar, wheat, groundnuts, and even a whole goat.

“This event has truly brought us together as a class,” remarked one Form Six student.

Extending Love Beyond the Church

After the Mass, 58 student representatives were selected to deliver the collected offerings to the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Charity Center in Hombolo. There, students had the humbling experience of meeting and interacting with elderly men and women, abandoned children, individuals with disabilities, and young people facing mental health challenges.

One student expressed deep emotion about the visit, saying:
“What touched me the most was their love and warm welcome—it was truly heartwarming.”

The students spent time engaging with the residents, exchanging greetings, conversations, and even helping to care for the children. This eye-opening experience left a lasting impact on them.

“We are blessed with families who provide for us, yet there are people who are not as fortunate. This experience has taught us never to take what we have for granted.”

A Lesson in Learning, Loving, and Serving

The Form Six students expressed gratitude to the Campus Ministry and the school administration for granting them this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The experience reinforced the core pillars of the school’s motto:

“To Learn, To Love, To Serve.”

As one student reflected:
“I’ve realized that those who are struggling did not choose their circumstances. It is our duty to share love and kindness whenever we can.”

A Call to Action for All Students

This experience serves as a powerful reminder that many people lack basic necessities—a home, loving parents, education, clothing, and support. We must not take these blessings for granted. Instead, we should extend a helping hand, even in the smallest ways.

“The only thing limiting us from being the best version of ourselves is the barriers we build within our own minds.”

There is no limit to giving because God’s blessings cannot be measured.

A Remarkable Offering of Love

Personally, this has been the most meaningful act of generosity I have witnessed since the year 2025 began. Our Form Six brothers and sisters have inspired us all.

May the Lord bless them, our school, our parents, those who have lost hope, and you—the one reading this.
