From 10 to 15 May, the first-year novices had an opportunity to get equipped with the skills from a seminar on Islamic which was facilitated by a diocesan priest who holds a doctorate in Islamic. The seminar was attended by other different novices and postulants from 15 religious congregations both male and female. It took place in the novitiate particularly Arrupe hall. The seminar was aimed at equipping the novices with knowledge on Islamic religion and hence enhance interreligious dialogue. Fruits are expected to be manifested following the said seminar.
Profession of First Simple and Perpetual Vows
On Pentecost Sunday, the 24th May, 2026, 17 men—3 from Southern Africa Province and 14 from Eastern Africa Province— made their profession of simple and perpetual vows of chastity, poverty and obedience consecrating themselves to a religious life in the least Society of Jesus.
The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Kizito Kiyimba, SJ (Provincial of AOR) who received the vows of the vow men. The celebration ended with a reception in the Arrupe hall.
Preparations for The Reception of Novi
As it stands, the first year novices have busied themselves with preparing the novitiate with work pieces such as arranging classes and rooms among others, in preparation for the reception of 17 men who are expected to enter the novitiate on the 31st of this month and start their two-year novitiate formation. We pray for them as they organize their journeys to Arusha, Tanzania.
