In a joint effort to cultivate environmental awareness among children, Loyola Centre for Media and Communications (LCMC) has embarked on a significant partnership with Nairobi Recyclers, a local NGO devoted to environmental sustainability.

The collaboration, kicked off on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, with an introduction session at Nairobi Recyclers’ premises. The event began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two parties, signifying their commitment to the cause. Following this, members from LCMC engaged the children in an inception session, setting the stage for what promises to be a fruitful partnership.

The primary goal of the two-year project is to instill a sense of environmental responsibility in the children, who are prepared to become the next generation of leaders. By encouraging them to adopt sustainable practices and make environmentally friendly choices, the project aims to maximize the benefits of a balanced ecosystem.

As the project unfolds, LCMC and Nairobi Recyclers are poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of these children and the environment they inhabit. Through education, empowerment, and collaboration, they hope to inspire a wave of positive change that will benefit both society and the planet.

Nairobi recyclers is one among other three institutions within Nairobi who are collaborating with Loyola Centre for Media and Communications in the children environmental rights project.
