The journey, spanning three hours, was a testament to the commitment and enthusiasm of the team, which included Dr. Mokua, SJ, Fr. Odomaro, SJ, Dr. Nyambega, Gerald Kway, SJ, Wanjiku Ngugi, Jared Chochi and Maureen Obare. Each member represented a unique facet of the university. This visit was significant as it marked the first official interaction between the newly appointed Bishop, Most Rev. Cleophas Oseso and the Jesuit of Eastern Africa community. Our mission was to brief and discuss the ambitious project of establishing Hekima University in Molo, a dream that had long been nurtured.

During the meeting, both Provincial Kizito Kiyimba, SJ and the PHU director Dr. Mokua, SJ provided the Most Rev Bishop with a comprehensive overview of the progress made so far and the current plans to bring Hekima University to life. The potential for this institution to transform education and provide valuable opportunities was at the forefront of their discussion. The gathering was engaging and timely, and the Most Rev Bishop, recognizing the importance of education, expressed his commitment to support the establishment of the university. His promise was met with optimism and gratitude from the delegation.

In an effort to raise awareness about the upcoming university, Most Rev Bishop Oseso extended an invitation to the directorate team to attend a denary mass scheduled for the 21st of October in Elburgon, Nakuru County. This event would not only provide an opportunity to participate in a spiritual gathering but also serve as a platform to promote Hekima University to the local community.

As the delegation left the Bishop’s office, we carried with us the hopes and dreams of a brighter future through education. The journey to establish Hekima University is a collective effort, and as the sun set on the horizon, it illuminated a path of knowledge, progress, and transformation for the Nakuru community and beyond.
