End of Term Reflection

By Frank Charles Mafungwe, SJ

Dear Friends in Christ,

As we draw near to the close of this academic term, we pause in gratitude to recognize the many graces that have sustained us. Last week, our Form 1, 2, 3, and Form 5 students completed their examinations and departed on Saturday. Their commitment to study and perseverance in the face of challenges reflect the Ignatian spirit of striving for the “Magis”—always seeking to do more for the greater glory of God.

At present, only our Form 4 students remain. They continue their examinations and will complete them this Friday. We accompany them with prayerful support, asking the Lord to grant them wisdom, serenity, and strength as they bring their efforts to completion.

This term has been marked by many pressing events that demanded concentration, energy, and resilience. In the midst of this busyness, we sought to remain faithful to St. Ignatius’ call to “find God in all things.” Even in moments of fatigue, we discovered opportunities for growth, solidarity, and deeper trust in God’s providence. Endurance became not simply a matter of surviving, but of embracing challenges as pathways to grace.

We are also blessed that Our Lady Queen of Peace will host the upcoming JIF meeting beginning Monday. This is a profound sign that the school has truly been both a house and a home for the Province a place of welcome, hospitality, and shared mission. In Ignatian language, it is a reminder that our institutions are not merely buildings, but living communities where Christ is encountered and service is nurtured.

As we conclude this term, we look forward with hope and renewed commitment. May our students continue to grow as men and women for and with others. May our community remain steadfast in its mission to educate minds, form hearts, and inspire service rooted in faith.
